There probably will be some canes this year. Just be patient and keep a watch full eye. Conditions can change rapidly. Plus we are not even at the peak of the season we have four more months of cane season left.

Will, please try and not let this get you too upset. We all love tracking storms, BUT PLEASE remember, even if no hurricanes form this year, next year is right around the corner....I"m sure you will have a TON of hurricanes to track in your lifetime....

I think alot of us are upset buddy. It's a big close community here and it's a passion and rush to track and discuss these storms. Just hang in there......There will be PLENTY of very active years ahead.

So far the conditions have stayed the same all year, with the Shear, SAL, TUTT, and Dry Air always killing a wave. Except for three minimal TS's.

See my last post under, "Nothing anytime soon as long as tropics look like this" - perhaps that'll give you some perspective on the situation...

Will, I want to see your reaction when a major hurricane's bearing down on the U.S. Patience is a virtue, you'll get your hurricane to track. Stay cool buddy. :)

Definitely not something to be sad and upset about. I live on Tampa Bay and check this site several times a day in the hopes that nothing will be happening.

I know hurricanes are fun and exciting to track but do a quick search on the news reports from last year. The death, destruction and misery from one hitting land are more of a reason to be depressed.

Perhaps the best thing is to "wish for fish." And I suspect that wish will come true very soon. In terms of the "fish" part, I hope so...

Its gonna be ok Wil. I remember in 1998 when up until August 19th, there was only 1 named storm. After August 19th, activity ramped up so much that the entire season ended up with 14 named storms. Im not saying that the same will happen again, but it shows that its never over until its over. Im sure something will form. Dont you worry :D

I agree - wishing for a fishy is okay - but, I wouldn't want to be riding those 70-foot waves on a ship...

Hey mister 8-) , things will change, they always do in weather and life. Sometimes there is a lot of activity, sometimes there is little. In order to stay interested and excited, we should find many things to keep us happy.

There are many many complex and exciting things in the world besides the weather. Try and find other distractions.

Yup hurricanes are no fun when they make landfall. They cause pain and suffering. Fish storms on the other hand are a JOY!!

Kevin is right - weather was my main squeeze many years ago, and I still love it, but, I also discovered bicycling with a club, ham radio, volunteering as a camp counselor each year, canoeing, walking, etc., and, those more than fill in the gaps in life, and, thank God for being introduced to them, as my life would have been much less without them.

Will, maybe you should be Celebrating that there have been no hurricanes at all. After last year, I bet everyone on the East Coast is throwing a party that there have been no strong hurricanes yet.
