This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

What I do when theres no hurricane is read weather books and do math. In work to better my self some other way. Will you can try something to advance your self? Or read the nhc advisories for the storm systems. Or go to AOML/HRD in read there thing on hurricanes to pass some time.

Will, if you lived in San Fransisco you would have so much to do while there were no hurricanes. IMO stop feeling miserable and start finding some other hobbies other than hurricanes. I like to juggle when there are no hurricanes.

I second that I totally agree. Look south of Hawaii, something is trying to form, yes you guessed it the Central Pacific.

Things change. Things change. Things change.

Today does not equal tomorrow.

El Nino will form, it is just a matter of when and how intense.

I agree with Matt Will. Trust me matt has been doing a lot of work with math and reading books so he can advance his already very good forecasting skills and maybe one day matthew will have a pro met tag here. :D Maybe you can to will. There are tons of resources, start at noaa.gov to begin with. Also do a google search for weather sites and you will find 100's of other weather forums and websites as well as NOAA. You are doing great my friend, just keeping on asking. :D

It's only a tropical depression now and it's normal to have 1 form per year on avg (NOT official information BTW) in that basin. The 2005, 2004, and 2003 Cpac seasons all had 1 TD form. However, if TD1-C becomes a hurricane or a major hurricane, then we know something is up (El Nino). Since that is forecasted, ignore what I said at the start of my post but if it stays a depression, then don't ignore it.

I'm just saying this so more people understand what's happening.

Yes, that means something is going on since it's starting to rapidly strengthen and another system was talked about in the CPHC's TWO. It's starting to feel like 2002.
