The thing is, these same couple of posters said the same thing with a few of the storms last year that ended up being majors. So no, I don't pay any attention anymore....

not to be mean, but there are a couple of posters on here who will never admit that a storm is going to form. They always say "shear will tear it apart" or that it has "too much dry air"...I won't mention names, but you know who you are....

meaning no storms will form at all this year?
Actually, if this Carib wave doesn't form, nor the one that just emerged off of Africa, then you might be right. As I said in the previous thread, nature is only going to give us so many good looking waves each season....I would be SHOCKED if either this one NOR 96Invest didn't develop...Afterall, it's prime time!!
Personally I don't think that will come to pass though. I do think the one off Africa will develop. That wave is just too damn good looking. It's hard to say about this one though.

have you looked at the calendar? If neither one of these develops, what will?? The wave in the eastern Atlantic is the best looking wave that's come off the coast yet. I've seen alot worse waves develop in previous years and under alot worse conditions in the Atlantic......
I tihnk the one in the Eastern Atlantic will reach hurricane status once it gets it's act together. Afterall we ARE DUE!

ouch! Sorry to hear about MCG's loss...I feel for ya though. I know quite a few friend down there who lost everything as well....Actually MCG isn't the naysayer around here(just giving a hard time). There's 2 posters on here that do think every storm that forms will fall apart or miss the USA though, but again, no names mentioned...I think it's kinda funny actually, provides for some good entertainment

I'm not a pro met, not even close. I'm an electronics technician for a federal govt agency or service as we say. I've done some weather related studies while in the Navy and was stationed at a Navy weather office (I fixed the WX gear) and learned a lot while there. I think the tropics will start becoming active soon. We will have our hurricanes to track this season, trust me......MGC

Well, after the incredible 25 page thread on the storms...they have gone poof. I hope that was the end of them, however, there still are clouds down there and a very "unsettled" look. Of course "unsettled" is a long way from a TD or TS. I think if the storms refire tomorrow then things will probably get going...guess we all have another day of watching(assuming the unsettled weather persists).
