I just got off the phone with my brother who is a meteorologist, and he says that a cat 2-3 is in the picture for the gulf, he said that a landfall in texas to lousiana is very possible. If the GFDL is predicting a 110mph hurrricane then we are in some trouble.... any comments?

Please have your sources come and make a viable forecast here, or give some link to their professional site....

sure ill give him a call on thursday and tell him to create a profile.

Until then, I can only ask from my personal standpoint that you do not cite your brother unless he can actually make his own verifiable forecast, especially if he is a pro-met...

A possible cat 2-3 in the Gulf, with a landfall in Texas or La. ; better have some sound synoptic backing..

Look at all the storm tops surrounding the estimated center. Not good. If you enlarge the NRL photo, they really show up nicely.

Everyone's getting a "bad feeling" here or sensing a "cat 5 in my bones" there. Enough already. Your brain and a little common sense can provide a much better forecast than your emotions alone.
