I think you're being too conservative Brent. Major Category Five hurricane Ernesto will level Grenada tonight. You all just watch and see me proved right.

Actually, I do think 97L will eventually become Ernesto...probably not until it reaches the Western Caribbean though. Maybe a Claudette-like track, depending on if that front actually punches through Texas or not next week. Be nice to get a cool front.....

ya, we were paying down around $2.50/gal here in the spring area north of houston......there goes the rent..car payment...etc... :roll:

Pretty bold statement "will be a problem for the Gulf", where did you get your flux capacitor? :lol:

We will see, I would hope gulf would close up shop around the 25th of August. Probably not so lucky.

Agreed. And Ernesto will be a US threat only because the climatology lately tends to favor a near miss or clearing of the Yucatan channel. In 3 days, we'll know for sure.

Thanks, I am wondering if there is some trough looming that will push down the East Coast early next week.......

I hope there is a huge ridge over the GOM that pushes it away from the US....
