Just looked at the recon thread again...still doesn't seem to be any evidence of a LLC being closed off just yet, just a couple isolated reports of a SSW wind and two 1009 mb pressure readings.

They need a NW to close it, and if the center is where we all think it is (between Grenada and St. Vincent) it won't be near where they are - it would be WSW of Grenada. Since wind went from NNE to S abruptly there doesn't *have* to be a NW.

Let me try to understand what you're saying. So they don't need to entirely close off a LLC in order to upgrade it? Just wondering. :) I'm still learning this stuff.

Huh? 230-236° = south-southwest? No. Try SW.

213.75° to 236.25° is southwest.

South-southwest would suggest a more southerly wind (191.25° to 213.75°)

they have to completely close off the circulation in order to upgrade it, that means all 360 degrees...

Ok, so I've missed the events of the morning, as I've been in class... But are we waiting for both a Southerly wind and a closed circulation at the moment?

Basically we're waiting for the closed circ. They found SSW, NNW, South....they want to completely close it off before they upgrade.

I do not see a NNW wind from the readings

however, it appears as if a clsoed circ is trying to form near 12.8N and 61.7W

Senerpepr just said that 236 degrees was southwest not sout-southwest. In the 240 would be even more.
