And just to add more insult to injury; a RED FLAG WARNING is in effect for the Western half of North Texas including...yep, you've said it, Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. That and the Heat Advisory will expire this evening.
Looks like it is coming to an end as of today, though I wouldn't be shocked if parts of the Metroplex hit 100.

Tonight: Periods of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 73. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 100. South southwest wind around 10 mph becoming northwest. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

It got to 104 yesterday here. The odd thing is - Austin is up there for hottest August ever - without breaking any daily heat records - tied one day - but set new rocords, no. It's just the relentless day after day of 100+
My sister called from downtown Dallas to say it was pouring down rain!!!
