I really think that may be the center. But I know I am seeing it on radar from the keys and radar can do funny tings to storms.

It does appear that the majority of all of the convection is rotating around this small location though.

I think that is it.

Can anyone link me to any other radars that may convince me otherwise?

A question... maybe simple

#243 Postby wsoutherland » Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:33 pm

So...even though there is a near consensus on an eventual turn eastward
as Ernesto works his way up Florida, could someone (maybe someone who
understands NHC reasoning more than I do) please explain to me why
Sarasota County, Manatee County and Tampa Bay is still only under a
TS Watch, even at the 8pm advisory?

Looking at radar images, etc. it seems to me that while we here
between Tampa and Charlotte are probably not going to get the big
wollop, we are certainly due for a heavy share of rain -- enough to be
disruptive and potentially dangerous.

I'll admit this is a bit of -removed- -- I teach school and I sure wouldn't
mind a day off -- but even so it seems to me that keeping us under a TS
Watch, which means school buses will be on the road in the AM, is not the
best choice. (My boys attend school where I teach, so they will be riding
with me, at least. I'm pretty worried about other kids, though.)

All convection is all wrapping around it, hmm?

Well a TS watch is for TS force winds. Since they are not likely to occur, that's why. They aren't for heavy rain.

I think the moderators can do global edits, but they aren't here to keep "fixing" things that we should be able to police ourselves. They like to read along and check the links and do all the stuff we are doing here too. They don't want to have to keep babysitting and chastizing us all the time. I bet they are much happier if we don't turn their fun hobby into hard work!

Man, what winds you all are getting in the Miami metro...

E15 at MIA
E13 at Fort Lauderdale
NE 12 at Homestead
E15 at Opa Locka

How can you all manage that? Seriously, don't you normally get stronger winds after the seabreeze front passes through every afternoon?

Anyone in Boca online tonight? Looks like you might be getting your first decent little squall up there, according to radar.

Just got very squally conditions here with very heavy intermittent rain and 30MPH gusts.
