Any new systems in the Atlantic with potential?

I've got my shutters up and it gave me a chance to lube all of the bolts and screws. Should I take them all down or just the big ones?

Leave them up. El Nino or not, September is the most active month. During an El Nino, September is usually the month when a major hurricane will occur.

I'm starting to get the idea CV season may not take off again this year and we will see everything form from Homebrew off Bahamas/Carribean.... thoughts?

All the bolts and screws are lubed? Take 'em down.

Joking aside, I see nothing to suggest a busy period. Maybe a few hurricanes the rest of the way, as there is increasing evidence of an el nino. Looks like a slow year folks.

When is the official report of an el nino starting coming out? I thought it was already settled that there wasn't going to be an el nino until possibly the very end of this year.

Florida folks if theirs a El Nino we might get more rain this winter than we did all summer. Take those shutters down.
