Luckily Dominion works pretty quickly around the metro areas. Now if there were those kinds of outages out here, it could easily take 2-3 days to restore. It took a week for many people out here to get power back after Isabel went through with winds weaker than Ernesto has now, so it'll be interesting to see how they handle this.

There was a minor power failure on the VCU campus here, so I believe it.
EDIT: If the power goes out in my apartment, I'll still be hanging around Storm2k because I have a laptop currently on the charger in case of such a thing.

Luckily I don't have FPL from what I have heard, I have Progress Energy. Don't think they were much better as far getting power back on after all the loses we had in '04, but are much better about working with customers about a late bill.
Looks like the power loses are up to 209,151 in Virgina.

Sounds like my power company Withlacooche. Thunderstorms knock my power out for 2-3 hours every other day in the summertime. Andsometimes lights flicker for no reason all day long. If ernesto had 70mph winds through my area I would have had no power for at least 3-5 days
