This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Will Dr Gray see his shadow

#1 Postby boca » Fri Sep 01, 2006 4:52 pm

Will hurricane season end early because of El Nino development or can we produce more storms from our lack luster season. I think Gray will see his shadow and well get a few more storms.

That's the best laugh all summer. BTW, did 'Pot Hole' Pete see his shadow in Central Park last February?

Dr Gray doesn't forecast the EPAC.

Noaa's outlook for the eastern Pacific was 12-16 named storms, 6-8 hurricanes, and 1-3 majors, and an ACE 45%-85% of the median.

The original Mexican forecast was 11 named storms, 5 hurricanes, 2 majors. In August that was revised to 14/8/3.

Dr. Gray has an easy job, he just comes out with a figure before the season and can update it multiple times throughout the season depending on how many storms we have so far.

Just kidding, I know that man knows more than probably anyone when it comes to forecasting hurricane seasons but we all know how unpredictable the tropics can be. With all that being said, I don't buy too much into those forecasts, rather I just wait and see what actually forms  .
