Rainstorm

#1 Postby wxmann_91 » Mon Sep 04, 2006 12:38 am

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the JB Typhoon Rule yet. Ioke is recurving in the WPAC, which according to the rule, would signify an east coast trough 6-10 days later. (Florence recurve?)

Just wondering about it. Don't know the specifics but I know rainstorm does. I'm not believing the rule either, but feel free to discuss this.

Ioke is recurving at a good 10 degrees farther north of normal systems. While theres likely to be some ridging to the north of 6...We will have to see if that east coast trough is strong enough. Even so I don't think so for 98L.

lets see what happens in 6-10 days. this is an unusual case because this isnt a west pac typhoon, but it formed in the central pacific and has moved quite a bit to the west
