Countdown to Labor Day...
Got a pretty good feeling that we will see the first formidable" Cane" around this time. The MJO is advancing towards the Atlantic, shear decreasing, dust subsiding, SST's warming. It is amazing that for centuries and perhaps milleniums, the global clock ticks true. Get ready...just a couple weeks now!

Oh boy! I got a feeling about Labor Day approaching too.
I live about 15 miles from a monument, now 70 years old. It memorializes more than 500 people killed in the Labor Day Hurricane. Inside the monument are some of the ashes from the piles of bodies that had to be burned on the side of the road because there was no other way to dispose of the corpses, which were rotting and had split open in the heat in the days after the storm.
"Can't wait!"
Anyone, and I say this with all due respect, who can't wait for an upturn in hurricane activity is welcome to come sit in my house and drown when the next exciting Category 5 hits the Keys. Bring your microphone! Maybe we'll hear you screaming, maybe we won't.
If you're going to be broadcasting juvenile enthusiasm for potential catastrophes, you won't have many listeners appreciating it. That's my forecast, anyway.

We have a disorganized tropical depression right now.
