I think this season will be famous for "don't trust the models, remember Ernesto?"

There are times to trust the models, and there are times which they cannot be trusted. Ernesto was quite a difficult situation where modeling was wrong initially, but many believed it, and they switched drastically, and all of a sudden nobody believed it, it will trend again, etc.

If the center had not jumped, OR the ULL to the north did not induce the weakness, Ernesto would probaly end up being a retired storm.

This year is like Mother Nature on drugs....giving birth to all these "effed up" looking tropical systems. Nothing looks normal this year.....just accept these children of Mother Nature as they are....lol...

p.s. only my attempt at humor.

How can this possibly be correct?

Alberto -- Not a fish
Beryl -- Not a fish
Chris -- Not sure but not a total fish
Debby -- fish
Ernesto -- Not a fish
Florence -- Not a fish because of land affected (Bermuda)
Gordon -- High chance of being a fish
TD8 -- ??

So that's 2 out of 7 storms being a fish not counting TD8.

Easy.

After two consecutive CRAZY hurricane seasons (2004,2005) with numerous cat 5's and landfalling majors, the 2006 season will be remembered as "the season where many suffered mass amnesia and forgot what an average, typical hurricane season is like."

To say that '04 and '05 spoiled a lot of people is the understatement of the year.

The season will be famous for

- ULLs everywhere in the Atlantic
- EC troughiness and lack of any sustainable ridging
- Every storm that form wants to go north or fishing

In all a boring and pathetic season so far for the Atlantic
