Any JB thoughts on this season and TS Helene so far

#1 Postby boca » Tue Sep 12, 2006 8:22 am

What does JB think so far this year. Will the recurvature pattern change or is the US forcefield protecting us continue. The forcefield originates from the Tampa Bay area.

Who said? I don't believe that's a rule. We're not supposed to bash JB, but we can discuss his forecasts....unless something changed in the past few weeks that I missed.

That is correct... we are not to bash JB. Discussions about him and his forecasts are fine... but NOT BASHING.

Well, you should still be able to post about his forecasts. It's those who bash that should feel the pain from the moderators.

Extremeweatherguy started a thread a while back about JB's thoughts and I couldn't find the thread so I started this one.

If you know it will start an issue, why ask? There are plenty of very well qualified mets here on this board.

JB usually presents meteorological evidence that supports his scenarios. If JB makes a forecast that go's against the odds, he at least includes the elements that would have to occur for the forecast to come true.

Forecast reasoning for lower probability scenarios is interesting and can be easily dismissed if it does not verify but it also may provide early warning if it does.

How about that people, if they wish; report a "synopsis of the highlights" of JB's opinion? (respecting that his is a pay site so plagarism is not allowed)

No editorial comments about his opinions so that there is no hint of "bashing" or even of the opposite (since NO forecaster is every always right).

If someone wants to post this; then the naysayers and cheerleaders should just read and not post. Then there will be no controversy and readers of S2K can add JB's opinion to those of the experts who post on the site too.

looks like this is already going in the wrong direction. lets keep this topic to just comments about what jb has to say weather we agree or not with what he has to say

Who sent you a message saying that you should not use his name? I can't imagine any staff member would say that as it simply isn't true. If it was just a fellow member, perhaps PM a mod or admin for clarification next time.

Honestly I like to hear many trains of thought. I for one would love a thread where we could get a glimpse of J.B.'s thoughts without comments just his thoughts.
