I know, it is so quiet here right now, might as well have some fun.
I wonder if we all spent so much time and energy on Ernesto, Chris and Florence and now poor Gordon is out there and everyone is so quiet, watch him be the storm that catches everyone by surprise...I hope not though. I like this quiet so far.

One of our local mets mentioned the dying cold front as an area to watch at the end of the week. It's that time of year for us Floridians where GOM storms and those Honduran systems start to form and head up this way in the coming weeks.

MCS should push off the Texas coast tonite, might deserve a bear watch tomorrow if it moves out over open waters.

From this A.M.'s AFD out of NWS Mobile/Pensacola:

AM CONCERNED...AFTER LOOKING AT THE KMOB AND KEVX
VWPS...WITH THE KEVX VWP SHOWING A STRONGER LOW LEVEL FLOW OFF THE
GULF THAN KMOB...INDICATING THE TIGHTENING OF THE PRESSURE GRADIENT
OF A SURFACE LOW DEVELOPING OVER THE GULF COAST...ALA NAM.

WITH THE SATURATED SOUNDINGS AND RELATIVELY LIMITED INSTABILITY
(ENOUGH FOR TS DEVELOPMENT...THOUGH)...

Do you seriously think we'll have something brewing in the GOM soon?
