They finally put a warning on that monster cell. I wonder if it was because the tornado actually touched down?

Yep, that includes the City of Omaha. First tornado warning for a significant urban area. I'm looking for coverage from the area now.

OK, sorry, sometimes people call the radar site by the office name, so I wasn't sure if you were referring to something 30nm SW of the radar or the city. Anyway, storm is getting into the cone of silence, thus making most of the radar data rather imprecise.

I would say it is crossing US 6/31 now. It should enter suburban residential areas shortly.

Looks like the hook will pass to the north of Omaha proper.

AT 907 PM CDT...A TORNADO WAS REPORTED ON THE GROUND AT THE
INTERSECTION OF 180TH AND HARRISON STREETS.

Downtown yes. However, it has about 15-20 miles of urban areas ahead of it. It will be in developed areas for about 20-30 minutes.

Wasn't there an F5 tornado that struck a stadium in the 1960s? I think it was in Jackson, Mississippi.

Funnel cloud to the north of 150th Street and Harrison Street.

West of 72nd Street and east of US 6 - TAKE COVER. NOW. It could save your life if it really touches down hard.
