LSR in for the 180th/Harrison touchdown, source is Fire Dept.

Currently hook is still present, but no velocity data at all to support or make a better location fix. Estimated position 12nm W of Omaha.

Tornado touched down in southwest suburbs. Supercell tracking across the west end.

I am using Microsoft Streets and Trips to help track this.

The suburb of Irvington is about to take a direct hit.

That's correct. I'd say it is near 120th Street and Maple Road now.

The orange surface is 47dBz, red starts at 52dBz. Note Omaha in the lower right as well as the massive overhang over the hook. Signifies that, most likely, there is not a strong tornado on the ground, if any.

There are more supercells southwest of Omaha. They are severe but not tornadic at this point but there is evidence of rotation beginning.

I'd expect Tornado Watch 778 (OK/TX) to be dropped or trimmed soon. I'd also expect Tornado Watch 780 to go up for E KS/MO.

Now on to the other storms. That one seems to have weakened some, but could easily restrengthen in Iowa.

Watching out of Wichita, KS radar . . . some nasty storms on the southern end of the line. I wouldn't be surprised to see our next tornado out of one of these or one of the loose cells in central KS. All the cells around Omaha are weakening (for the most part), as evidenced by the decreasing lightning activity.

For the moment, I agree. However, in this air mass, tornadic supercells can form within 30 minutes out of ordinary cumulus clouds (perhaps a bit longer with daytime heating gone, but not much).

The Pocahontas County cell is really looking solid as well in Iowa.

Another high-shear multiple-TVS event. Looking for coverage there.
