The center is a bit east of that weak spot in the convection. This image may show it better.

From 5 PM when it was at 19.3n to 11 PM where it was at 19.5n,only .2 of gaining latitud,interesting.

Yup... that is interesting. I was convinced that i was seeing a N/NW motion, but it must have been the wobbling of the central core as she continues to oraganize. My earlier comment seems to have been in error...

While I think U.S. concerns are minimal. Certainly Bermuda should be paying close attention. Helene has the looks of being a very large hurricane.
