14 hour now. I made it past the bewitching morning ritual and now I think on my way for day 1. The real test now will be my ride home from work.

My problem is that I've eaten 40 M&M's and had 10 pieces of bubble gum. So does this mean that I'll get fat and loose my teeth but my lungs will be in good shape?????

Bron, How's it going with you. Sending good vibes your way. Ed, how did the weekend go???

Ok, I better get back to work. :D

Thanks all. I had a good day. Your support was overwhelming. :?: I don't think I would have a problem mustering the same support for you for any of your future challanges.

Bron, I'm still sending positive thoughts your way.

I'm outa here.

Yay!!! Pburg!!! Go Go Go

You're past the first couple humps.

We're all with you!!

I'm hanging in there. I had some major stressors today, and a couple of times my body was begging for one. One of my daily rituals now is to go around the house and empty ash trays from my wife and mother in law. That makes me feel like I have some power over this. (Some of those butts look awful big - hardly been smoked) I excercise my power by throwing them in the trash.

Pburg, I'm proud of you already. One day at a time. One hour at a time. One little battle at a time. You can do it.

Ed...I don't think Amanzi was going to be back online until about the 20th....so part of her support system is "out of reach."

Just so you know....I've been dieting since you've been towing the line...figured you were that incentive to keep on going. So when I'm ready to reach for that snack...I don't. I only need to lose 15 lbs, but I've only done it one other time. I'll let you know of my progress too.

Stay with it Ed...and Karan...and way out there by yourself right now...Amanzi too. You're helping another fight a battle too!

Thanks Ed, Steve and Shannon. I feel like you three are my cheerleaders and I appreciate it, I really do.

Ed, don't those ashtrays smell stinky  Here's hoping you're doing well.

Steve, good luck on your weight loss. That's very, very difficult. Keep thinking, *moderation in all that we do*. Boy if I had a nickel for every time I disobeyed that little rule!!!!!!

Hey, I've learned one thing. I can now drink coffee while I'm driving. :D I've always smoked while driving and found it very cumbersome to smoke, drive and drink coffee too. I may be Starbucks best new customer!!!! (Hey this was supposed to save me money - Have you seen the prices on those coffees!!!!!! :o

*As she chews her very large wad of bubble gum and head for the vending machine*

Take care my friends

Karan, you're doing great.

tonight will be one week for me. I got urges maybe 2 or 3 times today. Need to just keep going. Don't want to throw away all this work. I've already saved about $25! I really feel a sense of freedom. Thinking about scrounging the nickles and pennies, begging, borrowing, and bumming. Talk about slavery!

Azskyman, Steve, I'm interested to hear more about your project.

Hi Ed
I'll tell ya. I reallllllly would like to have 1 just 1 cigarette.

I'm really proud of you and how well you have done. You're self control is amazing!!!

You know I have never asked for personal support on any of these boards and am very disappointed and surprised at the lack of support by some of my friends. OMG, am I going into a Bit** mode due to lack of nicotine????????

Help, Help. I'm turning into a monster!!!!!! I need nicotine!!!!!!!!

Nope, Karan, uh uh, nada, no way, no how! That "one" will be all it takes to start that evil cycle all over again.

Thanks for the strength Ed.

Still disappointed in many of my other friends and the support I expected from them. Might be the nicotine withdrawal!!!!

Good Morning All,

Well as I sit here chewing on a coffee stirrer, I'd love to have a cigarette!!!!! But I won't!!!! I really do feel a little less "edgy" today and I promise I won't be such a Bit@h.

Ed, how are you doing????? Keep up the good work, it gives me a great standard to live up to!!!! Hey, you are my role model!!

Thanks for the support Kelly and Patricia. I really, really appreciate it.

Bron, more positive thought and prayers headed your way.

Take care my friends

Thanks, Karan and keep up the good work. It does get better.

Tomorrow will be another hurdle for me. It's payday.
For the last 4 or 5 days I was broke. That made it easier to stay away from them! Of course I had to avoid bumming them and scrounging ashtrays.

Tomorrow I could easily buy a pack if I had a moment of weakness. I'm saying this so that its out in the open.

Thanks y'all.
Bronwyn, positive vibes to ya!

Ed, I've had a pack in my purse since I started. I figured I'd be less likely to have an panic attack for a cigarette if I had them with me. It's really not tempting to smoke them. They actually stink!!

Now to tell the truth you could have scrounged one from your wife or snitched a butt from the ashtray. You're way beyond buying a pack. I have faith in you.

Hey Ed - since you have that extra money and its payday - how about floating me a loan??? Then you won't have any tempation to buy cigs?

Is it a deal?
