Has the price at the pump gone down in your area?

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:13 pm

In Puerto Rico, the price at the pump has gone down to 2.40 a gallon,a decrease from almost 3.00 a gallon that was by early August. Thanks to the Crude Oil price going downward in recent weeks due in part because of a quiet hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico. This is good news for all.Let's see how much this drop of the prices last.

Yep, and they're still dropping. The lowest here is $2.15/gal for Unleaded fuel.

I have heard they are going to build a new refinery in La. as well and that will also help keep prices lower.

Local prices here at some stations have decreased, albeit very slightly and locally. Still over $2.00 at several stations a bit.

We gassed up this morning at a Racetrack that had it for 2.24 a gallon for the regular unleaded. Hope fully by this weekend we may see it go down to 2.00 a gallon.

A nearby station dropped to $1.97 earlier this week while many stations were still running around $2.19, and a couple of the local news stations picked up on it, and did an evening, morning, and another evening report from there, during which they dropped to $1.92! Needless to say, they were losing money for each gallon of gas, but it certainly brought in the people! Now the entire area (in town and up through about a 20 min drive towards DC) is around $2.03 or so, which is down from the $2.80s and $2.90s of a month ago.

Who woulda thought . . .
