It was nice and cool this morning in Polk Co. You guys in Boca are just jealous.

Yeah we'll have to wait until probably 4-6 weeks to feel anything cool, just too far south here :D

I would say this front was hyped up too much. The lowest it got at Boca Raton Airport was 73F at 6:47 AM. Even Ocala (in North Florida) stayed in the low 60s

I checked some other reports out of the midwest. Most were running about 5-7 degrees warmer than what was predicted.

The trough may have saved the EC from Helene but it was certainly nowhere near strong enough to shut down the Tropics.

I don't think it would of ever have been strong enough either way to shut down the tropics. As Chris said earlier in this thread, it typical to see troughs like this in September.

The forecast was for lower humidity. No hype around here.

And it felt good didn't it???

I drove my son to school today and the thermometer in my old lady minivan had 64!!!

And my forecast had been for lower humidity which would mean lower morning temps.

Additionally, I didn't think the front would reach S. Fl in time to affect this mornings lows. And with the wind expected to veer around to the east rather quickly, and onshore flow for Boca will mean not so cool mornings.

Edited to add....BKV (brooksville Southwest of Ocala) hit 56 this morning.

It is hot outside. I hate hot, dry weather.

Give me a good rainstorm every day of the year. I hate the sun.

Thanks Josh here is what NWS Miami said about it for South Florida:

FOR TODAY THROUGH SAT...FRONTAL BOUNDARY (CANNOT CALL IT A "COLD"
FRONT SINCE HIGHS TODAY WILL BE NOT TOO DIFFERENT TO WED THOUGH RH
A BIT LOWER FOR MOST OF CWA) SLOWLY MOVING S THROUGH INTO EXTREME
NW BROWARD AND COLLIER COUNTIES AT THE MOMENT. PUSH BEHIND BOUNDARY
DIMINISHING RAPIDLY...AND AT BEST...SYSTEM MAY CLEAR THE EXTREME S
TIP OF FLA...STALLING OVER THE KEYS AND CURVING NW INTO THE E GULF
OF MEX. THIS LEAVES A SHARP MOISTURE GRADIENT ACROSS MIAMI-DADE AND
MAINLAND MONROE COUNTY AS COMPARED TO N PORTIONS OF CWA

Nice, clear, and cool this morning and then the clouds moved in quickly from the southwest and currently we are having a heavy downpour.

It might have dropped in numbers humidity-wise, but I couldn't feel the difference! I still came home from work with sweat(salt)stains all over my shirt! It resembled an old tie-died shirt from back-in-the-dayz!!!

You would not want that. I live in Ontario, and in the winter time we have lake effect snow but that also comes with non-stop overcast Sky's which is very depressing and dull. Sometimes we don't see the sun for 2 weeks :( . It's just really dull and 365 days of the year of that would cause me to go somewhere else.

The strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic ocean formed in mid October. Of course, that was 2005 but....
