0 deg SEVIRI High Rate Meteosat-8 News
Issued on 25/09/06 at 11:05:47
Seq Nr: 1
News information:
Due to the triggering of the Meteosat-8 safe mode on 23/09/2006 (day 266) at 14:07, all Meteosat-8
operational services were swapped to Meteosat-9 with effect from 18:00 23/09/2006 (day 266).
Investigations into the cause of the safe mode triggering are in progress. Once the cause is
understood Meteosat-8 will be reconfigured and operational services will be resumed.
Further announcements will be made as the investigation proceeds. During this time users will
receive SEVIRI, DCP (except IODC) and Met Products on EUMETCast data channels 2 and 3 with
the file name and contents labeled as MSG2. The files will appear in the same receive directory as
the MSG1 files were previously received.
No change to the Tellicast client configuration is needed. However reconfiguration of the local
processing or visualisation software maybe required for the MSG-2/Meteosat-9 data.
MDD and FSD will remain labeled as MSG1/Meteosat-8.
