Subject : Deep Depression over Arabian Sea

The Deep Depression over northeast & adjoining east central Arabian sea remained practically stationary and lay centred at 1130 hrs IST of today the 24th September 2006 near lat. 21.00 N and long. 67.00 E about 280 kms southwest of Porbandar (Gujarat). It is likely to remain practically stationary and weaken gradually.

Under its influence widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy falls accompanied with strong winds reaching 50-70 Km/hour are likely along and off Gujarat coast during next 24 hours. The sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough along and off Gujarat coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the open sea.
