When can Florida have a cool shot?

#1 Postby Taffy » Sun Sep 24, 2006 10:31 am

We are still overing at 90 in Southwest Florida. The evenings are definetly more comfortable in the low 70's, but the days are still HOT.

I am so sick of it. I am so sick of having the air on.

Please tell me when the next front may come through to drop us into the lower 80's at least.

Thanks from a haggard Floridian

how long have you lived in florida? just wondering because basically we are having normal late september weather....hot/humid/still summery.

Should be no surprise at that....about a month from now we should start to notice a change as some fronts will pack a bit more punch.....but we are talking a south florida type cool down....no need to break out the snow shovels......but it is awesome to wake up on christmas morning to a sunny day in the 70's......beats a white christmas in my book any day!

NWS Miami discussion....the words 'front dissipating' pretty much mean you will have to keep your air running for a little bit longer....

EXTENDED FORECAST...
A COLD FRONT OVER THE TENNESSEE VALLEY WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST INTO
CENTRAL FLORIDA BY THE END OF THIS WEEK...AS THE HIGH OVER THE
NORTHERN BAHAMA ISLANDS WEAKENED. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR THE
STEERING FLOW TO BECOME SOUTHWEST OVER THE CWA MIDDLE TO LATE END
OF THIS WEEK. THIS WILL ALLOW KEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE TO WORK INTO
THE CWA FROM THE SOUTH...AND FOCUS MOST OF THE ACTIVITY OVER THE
EASTERN METRO AREAS OF THE CWA FOR THE MIDDLE TO END OF THIS WEEK.
SO WILL KEEP THE SCATTERED POPS IN THE FORECAST FOR THE MIDDLE TO
END OF THIS WEEK...WITH THE HIGHEST POPS OVER THE EAST COAST AREAS
OF THE CWA.

THE FRONT WILL DISSIPATE LATE THIS WEEK INTO NEXT WEEKEND...AS
HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS BACK INTO THE CWA FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO.
THIS WILL ALLOW FOR THE STEERING FLOW TO BE LIGHT OVER THE CWA...AND
ALLOW FOR BOTH SEA BREEZES TO BE THE MAIN PLAYERS. SO THE POPS
FOR NEXT WEEKEND WILL BE IN THE SCATTERED AREA WITH THE HIGHEST
POPS OVER THE INTERIOR AREAS.

Thanks for the info. I have been here for 28 years and I am so done with the weather. I know this is typical weather, but I just keep hoping for an early miracle. I am just so tired of being hot.

it only wants me to move back to NY and shovle 2 feet of snow everyday just to have the snow plow to pile in back up at the bottom of my driveway. :D

see, this is all I have ever remembered. So your 2 feet of snow every day, seems like a pleasure over this constant heat and barely any seasonal changes. I would love to move, but everyone I love and everything familiar is HERE and I can't bear to leave that.
