ADT numbers are also now below hurricane strength, so I expect at 5pm they will downgrade her to a TS.

Helene is looking more like a frontal low as it becomes attached to that cold front. Certainly looks like its losing tropical characteristics quickly.

The GFS 18Z run is more in agreement with the ECMWF: ex-Helene will curve to the SE/S in a few days.

Helene has made it to Advisorie 49...Once over 50 then it will be in the 50 Advisorie fan club. Which only one storm last year made it=Irene at 56 Advisories. Also it has helped to push this years ace to near 70.

At wikp it say its over 70 now total for this season. With 25 points of that from Helene. 2002 only had 66 Ace. Which was also a El nino.

Interesting that our 8-storms season has already passed the 12-storms season of 2002.

So does just reaching 50 count? That's 12.25 days, as there was one special advisory.
