I heard this mentioned on the radio, coming out of work today. I work in a Middle School cafeteria. I don't know what is going on anymore. We had 9 bomb threats at our school last year. Each and every time none of us felt threatened. We knew they were just threats, kids wanting to get out a test or class. But after learning of the sad school shootings lately, I just don't know anymore what to think.

That's horrible. There was a school shooting in Colorado, not too far from Columbine. WTF??????????? :grr:

Does anyone remember the string of school shootings from 1997-2000?

Dont forget the guy in Florida who killed one police officer and his K-9 dog, and wounded another...the SWAT team finally killed him this morning...he caused three schools in Lakeland, Fl to lockdown for several hours after they should of been released (I think it was 7 hours?)

That's bad. At least he's dead. Hell has a special place for scum like that cop killer in Florida. :grr:

Wow, there's not a lot of good news today.

We just had a lockdown drill today at our school, always a good reminder why it's important to do those.

Makes you wonder what these kids are coming to....stuff like this is precisely why I worry so much about my nephew. Sometimes I think this generation's going to he-double breadsticks -- in a handbasket.

Reality check...

I'm only 17 and I can tell you we are not basket cases or "breadsticks" in anyway. That is almost offending of you to say that. Not every teen is running around with guns in schools. I don't know the situation in the USA, but here in Canada school shootings or killings are a per 5-10 year occurance. But still, in the USA even though it seems like every school in every state, it's just a few schools a year. Really from my own standpoint, I think there is something wrong with American youth if they desire to bring guns to school or get influenced so often by those who do. It's a long debate in Canadian schools about what is wrong with American teens and the school system, and I think if you track down living conditions associated with those involved in these incidents, or school situations then that might lead you to a cause.

Really though, not as an offending political comment, but why does this seem to be a weekly occurance in the USA and not other countries. I watch CBC news more than CNN, it's more global on public interest stories, and if there is a school shooting, it's 99% likely to be in the USA.

IMO I guess. I don't really know.

This happened only 2 weeks after an apparent Columbine copycat incident that was caught before it happened it Green Bay East High School. This is the second WI High School in the last 2 weeks.

It is hard to say what is going on in their heads.... its probably an 'attention' getter.

When I was in high school, we never had a lockdown. However, there was a threat 10 days after the Columbine shooting.

The Florida cop killer was shot 68 times.
