Thanks for the prayers! I believe in the power of prayer!
Love, in Christ, Jackie
Prayers are needed gang.

Just got this email from Jackie.
This woman amazes me. Her attitude is always positive and she's been thru alot. Believe me!!!
Hi!
Home again, home again, diggity dig....or at least that's how I remember how the little piggies got home from the market...
The surgery was a success, they removed three bladder stones the size of peas.I was amazed at how big those buggers were,no wonder they were causing so much havoc in our son's bladder!
They also did some other work while they had him on the table. His vesicostomy site,( where our belly buttons are located on our bodies,)got tucked in a bit more,it tends to protrude from catherizatons and because he is so skinny and has little body fat to make it and "inny", it was strictly a cosmetic nip and tuck. They also removed a bit of scar tissue on(guys you might want to cross your legs before you read this!) on the tip of his penis and removed some other scar tissue that had formed along the side.Again this was strictly cosmetic.Kids with extrophy are prone to develope this type of tissue, for as they grow, their 'winkies"(as my husband so anatomically correctly puts it) grow and so does the scar tissue.Probably once he is done with puberty he will have to go back again to have more removed.
Dakota is home and doing okay.He is vomiting and is a bit sore on his belly and on his "winkie" but the vomiting should cease within the next 24 hours, strictly an after sympton of anethesia. For the incision site and winkie pain we have some nice tylenol with codeine, knocks him out.LOL....I'm thinking of making a cocktail drink of some of it for me!They have stitched in place his catheter which will have to stay in for three weeks. We go back to philly one mo' time to have the stitches removed and to reteach Dakota how to cath himself through the vesicostomy site.
I am sooooooooooo glad this is over. It's all downhill from this point!! Praise God that all as gone well, truly He was watching over my son and for that I am so very, very thankful!
Must be off to make supper for the crew, I might be scarce the next few days but I'll try to stop on by the porches. Thanks friends for all your support, it means so much to me, you folks are such a blessing in my life and the life of my family!!
Love, jackie
PS:..okay fellas you can uncross your legs now.....LOL..it only hurts for a little while ya know!
She'll be posting soon I'm sure. She has much to teach us about personal strength, belief in God and the power of prayer.
Thanks everyone - you're great!!!!

Thanks for the update Karan. What a strong woman she is and what a strong boy he is to be able to endure so much in such a short amount of time. Thoughts and prayers continue for Dakota and the rest of the family.

Goodness! I received her first e-mail about being back in the hospital and I thought (and replied) "now what happened???" I'm glad to hear (if that's possible) that it was for the stones and not some additional illness that poor kid had to go through!
I'm glad that they're home and actually seeing a light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you once again Karan for keeping us up to date!

Karan - once again, thanks for keeping the prayer warriers updated here at Storm2K. I was praying for Dakota all day and hoped it went well. And now we see it did. Whew, now that's behind them and hopefully the whole family can settle down. And Dakota can just heal. Poor little guy, so young to be dealing with all of this. You sure are quite the mom Jackie!!! With you helping him all the way, he'll heal in no time.
Hugs Jackie and thanks again Karan.

The Power of Prayer!!! It is absolutely amazing how everyone has pulled together and formed prayer vigils. Although many of us have never met face to face and may never meet, we can form a bond that stays tried and true. Jackie's family has been in my prayers since I returned to S2K and I have added many people to my prayer list over the last couple of months. My "S2K Family" is a permanent name on my list of requests for God to bless. So many people hesitate to ask for prayers during a trying time but there is no better solution, so I include those who need help and are cautious about requesting it. All of you, just know that you are being prayed for!!
God Bless You and Yours!!!!
