Glint of light on the nighttime GOES 12 east

Anyone know what that is out over the Atlantic (in the Bermuda Triangle, heh heh)?

I checked and the moon phase is only half. Don't know what would be causing that.

Your satellite image is dead/missing now. Tried NS 8.1 and IE 6.0, nothing there:

No, I think if a comet were to come that close to Earth we all would’ve seen it. Also, I don’t think comets move that way around planets and satellites? It’s probably just a “glint of light” as the topic title says.

Actually, a piece of dust that was hitting the upper part of the atmosphere could easily produce a glow like that, and the closer it was to the sat the bigger it would appear in the camera, hence we can't see such a glow, though the camera (which may have only been a couple hundred miles away) picked it up well.

And for those who can't see the picture in the initial post, right click>show picture will usually do the trick if the picture hasn't been deleted from the url.
