Well at least the NWS out of N.O. thinks so. I would have to agree with them.

We did see a hit by Alberto early on. I'm not breathing any sigh of relief until we are through at least October as it is a historically busy month, especially for South Florida -- I still feel something of signficance will stir up in the W. Caribbean and move N and NE into Florida before this year is done.

Not so sure that I agree with you Gatorcane anymore.
This season is such a reminder of much of the time I grew up down here; average amount of storms, most turning out to be Fish; with no South Florida hit.
I see nothing now to make me believe that we will get anything this season down here.

Im with you on this..2004 and 2005 were the only years I was glued to the TV and PC, before that..I dont ever recall being too concerned over hurricanes. They were just big years to me.

Too true - a sizeable earthquake doesn't mean that there will be a big one every year, or even every few years, and the same is true for hurricanes - I blame the media for making the public think that everything will always happen that way - in nature, it doesn't, but, in the mind of those wanting big ratings and income, it does...
Several weeks ago one OCM (can't recall what national media outlet) said that "with any luck" something will develop - what a cold thing to say (obviously, he and his employer don't live down here, but, apparently their ratings are low)...
