I would say the Wildfires of 2003, the rains of Winter 2004-05 and the recent Heat Wave in July, here in San Diego.

As for my life, I have no idea. I was in Dallas for the 1995 Hailstorm/Flood that cost a Billion in damages, but I have absolutely no recollection of it.

Just curious, how is Katrina behind Georges, Frederic and Elena?

There haven't been any real natural disasters here unless you live right on the river, which has had some spring floods. There are never hurricanes nor tornadoes.

However, there are extremes in temperatures. The record high around here is 102 and the record low arouond here -61. It gets into the -30's every winter, but I've never heard anyone classify the cold as a natural disaster.

We do have blizzards, but I guess unlike the other places above, none are considered natural disasters. Just east of here, 112 inches/9+ feet of snow fell in a short span of a few days in 1996, but other than closing the highway and a few barn callapses, not that much damage occured.

Avalanches definately are a natural disaster in the mountains around here, but they don't really affect the towns themselves, other than highway closures.

I take that back. If you are a rancher, and there are many around here, the recent droughts could definately be considered a huge natural disaster.
