Winter Storm Watch

A " Winter Storm Watch " has been issued for part of the U.P. of Michigan starting Wednesday Night were they could pick up 2" to 4" inchs of Snow.

Is this the first one for the 2006 -2007 season that is not in a mountaineous area? If so, congrats.

Quite a storm system coming together for Eastern and Central NOAM this week; a huge Great Plains Low with a tight pressure gradient and accompanying sharp cold front, pulling in a North Atlantic Ocean storm later in the week. Batten down the hatches. :eek:

Looks like the worst will run around Lake Superior, although less so on the east side.

Some areas could get 10 to 16 inches of snow.

weather channel says up to 2 feet, especially north of 28

Yay i have been hearing that now. They are saying from Wednesday to Friday that some of the Storm totals will range in the 1' + 2' foot range. Just have to wait and see how it turns out but looking like it is going to be a good snowstorm.

Indeed. This type of storm is what they sometimes call a "fresh water fury" on the Great Lakes. Which can be very potent fall gales:
