Wow! Look at the sub surface anomalies!
Any thoughts of this possibly being a sign of things to come?

The loop goes until September 25th so I assume that those subsurface anomalies are still there and may trigger a moderate el nino.Certainlt the Pacific has el nino growing slowly.Below are the latest anomalies.

But the BOM maps show another area of cool subsfc anomalies developing. Should this expand, this could signal a La Nina for 07-08 and an active 07 season.
I meant the +4 to 6 degree anomalies below the surface.
???
No where are there +6 anomalies.
I was saying that the - anomalies beneath the +anomalies could signal a La Nina for next winter.

The answer is no if your referring to that little bit of cooling showing up at the subsurface around 140 E or so. You are going to have minor blips here and there.
It might be a different story if you see a large patch develop. Like last spring. It was warm though.
