Baby Squirrel...

I know....I was just chiding witch ya Reaper!

My family raised several different species of "wild" animals too....I was surprised when you mentioned owls...we had 3 little ones that survived also! My Father's goal was always to release them back into their natural habitat....that's why I let our squirrel go. She stayed around for a while, but was always very tame with us.

We raised an abandoned red squirrel when I was a youngin'....he was a corker! That kind of squirrel is very nervous....and his actions were hillarious!

Feederband....it's fun to read the updates on your little fella!........p

Yeah I thought there was something majorly wrong...I got to the cage and he was just sitting on his box yelling as load as he could...I fed him and right back to sleep he went...

Interesting. Replace "cage" with "crib" and I could swear you were describing our 6 week old daughter.

I'm quickly learning that it demands about the same...

I also love the updates. "Mr. Jingles" thinks your his Daddy!

I'm really enjoying this saga of "our" Mr. Jingles

This reminds me of watching the bald eagles and their nest this past summer. Although the eggs weren't successfull all the viewers got a sense of the eggs being "ours".

Mr. Jingles is becoming "our" squirrel and many of us look forward to the updates.

What a cutie pie!!

We have about 6 or 7 squirrels that call our backyard home. There's a big nest in one of the trees. Anyway, I do put out birdseed and we through unsalted peanuts out to them. This afternoon I saw one sitting on a patio chair. I think he was giving me a hint...

Well sorry folks the story is over but not a sad ending...Last nite Mr. Jingles started to get sick and would not eat much...I called the rehabber and he found one closer to me...The question was would he survive the night...He did and was eating better....

I didn't want to spend all of this effort and have him die on us so I just came back from the rehabber and left Mr. Jingles with them....They placed him a cage with a batch of 6 baby's he got on Thursday ...They are about a week younger that MJ but he snuggled up with them and fell asleep like he was part of their family

Anyways good luck Mr. Jingles...

That was very kind of you feederband. I'm sure it was hard to leave him there. But he will now have brothers and sisters to grow up with.
