I lurk on this thread and pay attention to this thread because, especially in the fall and winter months, most of our weather comes from you guys, and usually a day after you guys get it.

Just for FYI, our high for tomorrow has been bumped up to 74 degrees and our nighttime low tomorrow night will hover around 55 degrees, both numbers are 5-10 degrees higher than they were yesterday. Then the warm stuff will move back in for the weekend.

I have changed the title of this thread from Houston weather thread to SE Texas weather thread.

This will help to widen the range of posters, and it will get rid of the "Houston area" borders.

This storm moving toward me in NW Harris co. is scary! Pitch black clouds, excessive lightning and a gust front are moving toward me!

Wouldn't be surprised if this goes severe. Looks like a bow echo on radar..

Extremely black clouds to my north, not sure if they are moving this way or not... If I had a digital camera, the kids broke it, I would take pics... looks like a text book wall cloud... Where is the front?

hmm. there was actually not that much wind along the gust front...just some extremely fast moving clouds. Right now though it is POURING here! Wouldn't be surprised to see a little small hail either.

update: no hail, but toward the very end of the storm the wind did pick up. Probably 40mph gusts. No damage that I can see, just a white-out rain and wind blast. Not nearly as bad as the storm a few days back (wind wise), but a lot of lightning and rain!

As has happened all week, not much electrical activity with the current storm moving through. Just lots of good soaking rain. Looking at radar I don't think it'll last long either. Drat! I was so looking forward to falling to sleep listening to the rain. Better luck next time.

OK, I'm afraid to look - even the TV idiots are saying the "cold" front is a bust, so how warm will it be tonight and tomorrow? Temps went up every time I checked, so I figure I'm the jinx.

I don't know, but it feels pretty chilly out there right now. It is probably in the upper 60s-lower 70s with a nice northerly breeze developing and it feels great!

Also, looking up toward Lufkin, I can see they are already to 61F with a dewpoint in the lower 50s and a forecast low of 44F. IF that forecast plays out, and if the front can move further south than forecast and if we get clear skies, then maybe...just may be we will be able to reach the lower 50s tonight. If not though, then expect mid to upper 50s with breezy winds and mostly cloudy skies.

As for tomorrow...depending on cloud cover, exact level of CAA, and exactly how low the dewpoints get...the high could range from 70-79F degrees. Stay tuned..

Ok, I give up....where is the front? The line of storms moved through my area and it's 69 degrees outside with no breeze at all.

The southern portion of this line has begun to go quite severe. They just hoisted up a svr Tstorm warning for four counties, with two of the cells looking downright nasty.

Wish Jschlitz was around with his GRlvl images...

another cell seems to be popping up to my west right now.

If it hits me, this will be my 4th thunderstorm of the day!

Next week is when things may really start to get interesting though..The complex Sun/Mon situation will probably bring another round of Svr. weather and with record heat next Tues/Wed, next Thursday's front could be surpercharged with a decent squall line possible. We may get a month's worth of storm activity within the next 7 days!

Glad y'all got some rain. We're still missing the rain here, dissapated beforeit reached Lafayette parish. We still need the rain bad. We're down -14.73 for the year.

We sure haven't been able to get a good storm here in a while. Seems like a few days ago today was going to be really wet and then get pretty cold. Things change quick! If we're not going to get some nice cool fall weather to come here and stick around at least let us catch up on some rain deficits.

Just to your North. It is already in the low to mid 60's just about 20 miles North of you. It'll be interesting to see if we get below 60 tonight with the heavy cloud cover.

The 60F line is not that far north right now and is headed south. The cooler air should be here by the morning.

The cool air is now blowing in pretty good here in Conroe with winds out of the north probably up to 15 mph. You can definately feel the difference on my front porch which faces north. It's not a butt whoopin' front but it sure dos feel refreshing!
