The next day, I woke up at 6:30, and we ate breakfast at Denny's. I didn't eat very much because I was so nervous...it was going to be my first true college visit. So we finished and drove back down to the campus, where I checked into Neeley residence hall and dropped off my luggage. We were given a colored lanyard (mine was red), which was used to put us into tour groups. Me and the other honors invitational students (there were 188) followed two tour guides and they showed us around and explained everything to us. We learned all sorts of chants and historical footnotes...I don't even remember any of it...it was that much info! After that, we broke up into our color groups, went inside (it was HOT), and played games to help us get to know each other better. Throughout the day, we went into little rooms where we learned more about the honors program and the college in general. We then broke up into pre-determined groups divided into the separate colleges. When we first signed up, we got to choose what college we wanted to tour...I chose College of Science. So we learned a little about A&M's science program and got a few handouts. The whole time I was in awe of how big everything was. I seemed so lost...thank God for our tour guides!! After that, we ate a fancy lunch, got some more info on the program, and went back to our dorm (more on our dorms later...). We changed clothes into bathing suits and exercise clothes...we were about to go to dinner and then to the recreation center. It was then that I met my roommate...he seemed OK...we only said like 8 words to each other over the 2 day period.
