Wow! An early frost and freeze for Northwest Mississippi last night.
In Tunica County the temp dipped down to 32 and frost formed. I was pretty surprised, because it wasn't forecast to get that cold last night. It surprised a lot of people. No one even brought in their plants or anything.

I just moved up from Baton Rouge. It's only a 180 mile difference, but it is so different up here. I'm loving the weather and the scenery. I can look out my window and see hills. I feel more secure from hurricanes up here...and there are four seasons! I just looked...there's about a 15 degree diference between here and my old place tonight. I'm hoping for a little white stuff here north of I-20.

You'll prolly get some snow this year. We haven't had any here since 02 or was it 01? Was a long dry spell before then....Rarely get it here, unfortunately for those of us who enjoy it. Only thing is, only 2 inches shuts everything down LOL.
I thought we were far enough away from the coast not to have to worry bout canes until Katrina last year. Was 2 weeks without power thanks to her LOL.

It was 01...I chased it! Here's a great winter climatology link for Jackson. I think the last measurable snowfall was the 2000-2001 event. There have been traces since then, but nothing measurable. According to the info, we're due. After living in south LA, I'll take flurries.

LOL@ flurries.
I think if it's gonna snow, bring it on. Don't give me flurries and make me want more. I like the snowstorm we had in March 93...was a blizzard! It started out as rain all day. I was cutting firewood in the light rain that day. By early evening, the rain changed over to sleet and covered the ground. Then it changed to snow...even thunder and lightening. It was great watching it.
I think it must have been 2000 that we had snow on new year's eve night, then again in 01. The snow in 00 was better as we got a couple of inches then. In 01 we barely got an inch. My inlaws in hattiesburg (south of us) got about 3 inches of snow.
