There's already some rain in the north Texas region according to the radar. The showers are currently hovering over Cleburne, Burleson, Ennis, Waxahachie, and other surrounding suburbs. This activity is expected to move slowly eastward. Another area of showers are south of Weatherford, and it's also moving eastward and expected to go south of the I-20 corridor.
At the meantime, we will be expecting some heavy thunderstorms late Tonight through Monday with the greatest potential for heavy rain Sunday Night across all of North Texas.

According to the latest HWO for North Texas, this wet pattern will prevail through Monday Night, this'll make us North Texans happy! Of course, the insane part is when the outdoor sprinkler systems were activated all day during this rainy event. What a waste of water. Oh well, you can't fix stupid.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for areas northwest and southeast of the N TX region.
We're expecting another cooldown this Thursday as high temperatures are falling to near 70 and lows are in the lower 50s.

The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for Dallas County until 7:45AM CDT This morning. Over an hour ago, 2 inches rain continues across Irving, and northwest Dallas for the past 2 hours. Another 1 to 2 inches is expected before 7:00AM CDT. If this keeps up, the FLASH FLOOD WARNING may be extended.
A word of advice to those who are driving, if you see any flooding, turn around don't drown.
We haven't seen the end of this, the rain will continue through tonight with highs in the mid 70s, and all showers and thunderstorms will taper off by Midnight with lows in the lower to mid 60s.

I hope so too. I was getting sick and tired of hearing about low lake levels. There's gotta be like 3 inches where I'm at, if nothing more.
Speaking of water levels, the National Weather Service has issued a RIVER FLOOD WARNING for the Trinity River. Here are the stats:

Tonight, there may be some severe thunderstorms for the North Texas area before Midnight. The main threats will be hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall as a cold front sweeps through the area. After Midnight, the system should become a squall line shifting to the southeastern areas of North Texas. Afterwards, temperatures are gonna drop in the mid 60s in the day and the 40s at night on Thursday.

Any rain we got this morning was a spit in the bucket (if that much), otherwise we're back to fall-like weather...and thensome. From Today on, skies will become Mostly Sunny/Clear to Partly Cloudy with highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s, and lows in the mid 40s to the 50s.
Of course, CBS affiliate KTVT-TV got carried away with Sunday and Monday's temperatures, putting the highs there in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 30s last night. They finally got it straightened out today.

This fall weather is gonna stick around for quite sometime...except on Thursday where temperatures will reach near 80 and fall back in to the 70s next Friday. From Tuesday to Thursday, we'll have another chance of rain and thunderstorms, not anticipating anything severe at the moment. The big questing is will we REALLY get another soaker...or will it be another spit in the bucket like last time?

Lavon increased to 475.41 from the recent rains. It's gonna take a whole lot more rain to fill it back up at this rate. Like feet of rain over the coming winter. We've cut back on watering our yard due to the increased rain and the grass and plants heading into dormacy. We need thousands of people to start doing the same.
Hopefully we get a few inches of rain this week.

Well, there maybe some patchy frost in some areas of North Texas as temperstures drop to the mid to upper 30s. Meanwhile, a Frost Advisory has been issued for areas west of a Graham, Comanche, Lampases line and also for areas north of the Red River. While no Frost Advisories are in effect for the immediate North Texas region, extra caution must be taken.
