yeah, there is some serious shear in the atmosphere. Pretty much any storm that forms will become a mesocyclone today.

'Gale - there's an upper level low west of Houston that's also helping pull all this rain towards SE TX. Couple that with the warm front moving through and the surface low, well - until that moves east of here, it's gonna be nasty for all of SE TX and LA.

No unfortunately they are static images. They are all time stamped on the right.

Someday I may publish to a website, but for now I just upload them manually.

Countywide flooding in progress.

Several watersheds at bankfull or rising above banks.

Bankfull conditions:

Halls
Hunting
Cypress
Clear
White Oak
Greens

Tides are running 3.0-4.5 feet above normal resulting in minor coastal flooding. Flooding is occurring around Clear Lake and along portions of Clear Creek.

Flooding along Cypress Creek will worsen as the day progresses and more rain falls.

Numerous interstates are impassable at this time and travel is discouraged.

Any confirmed tornado touchdowns in your area yet? The only thing I see from NWS is something around Magnolia Beach at 3:45 a.m.

What I can't get over is in looking at the radar loop - the isolated low-level cells - mostly offhsore and east of Houston - feeding into the main convection to the NW -- those things are just moving SO fast. It indicates the LLJ must be blowing at incredible speeds. This whole situation, in a practical sense, is really not any different than a TS making landfall - just incredible.
