2 tornado reports and 1 wind report officially on the SPC website right now, but I also heard reports of damage in parts of Harris co. during this mornings big tornadic storm around 7-7:30am...which there is no report of on the SPC website.

Winds on Galveston have been sustained as high as the middle 30s with gusts over 40mph this morning. That's pretty intense, and there is likely little difference between this system and a weak TS landfall.

The storm forming near the West Loop looks like it is developing a hook to me:

WOW! Just got one h*ll of a gust out of nowhere under the BC Dome. Patio furniture went flying. Still hanging fairly dry for the moment between 2 strong lines of storms.

Sure does. Any of these new pop-up storms developing across Brazoria, Matagorda and Harris County could severe/tornadic very rapidly.

I just ckecked-out the cell out of the window from the 10th floor here on Post Oak. The base of it was almost black and the SW flank does look like it could be rotating, but it's hard to tell for sure from my angle. The SW flank does extend out from the storm - I would watch this one very carerfully if I were in its path.

just heard on TV that two women were found dead in an SUV that had been flooded by the storm. :( This storm system has now officially taken lives.

that cell in Houston will probably go to my east, but I will likely get a good view of it as it does.

Morning folks! I was up pretty late watching this storm, then fell asleep on the couch.

I woke up about 9am with a stiff breeze coming through the window. I sat here waking up with a cup of coffee and heard a c-r-a-c-k. A tree came down and clipped my fence.

Are we pretty much done with the bad weather (rain) for the day or what?

you had a tree come down? Was it in a thunderstorm or outside of one?

New tornado watch until 6:45pm!

http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/watch/ ... ar_big.gif

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ALONG THE AXIS
OF THE LLJ AND RICHEST MOISTURE FROM SE TX/SW LA NEWD THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON. MEANWHILE...A WARM FRONT WILL LIFT SLOWLY NWD TOWARD THE
I-20 CORRIDOR. BOUNDARY LAYER DEWPOINTS IN THE LOW-MID 70S AND
EXTREMELY STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR NEAR THE WARM FRONT WILL CONTINUE
TO SUPPORT A THREAT FOR SUPERCELLS WITH TORNADOES THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON.

It was just from a gust of wind I guess. There was no rain or lightning or anything at the time.

The sun just popped out here for a split-second but we are havings some strong gusts of wind popping up out of the blue. There's the sun again. Is it clearing up then?
