WAKE UP DAVID!

Howdy everyone. I just got back from taking my sister to the Wonders of Wildlife museum in Springfield. I went last year, but my oldest sister has never been so we got up and headed out. It was a lot of fun.

Have a great afternoon!

On a serious note, Darla just came in. We are going out to eat before she leaves. :( I am kind of sad, but we will still see each other some. Time for a new page in my life -- Storm2K will you marry me? J/k! :)

See ya'll later this evening,

Hello ya'll!!! I sure miss everyone. I've decided to stay at my moms in Daytona for another couple weeks, while the kids are here. Workin' on my tan, and catching up with my family and all my old friends. Chad! Come to the beach and say hi! Brian and his son drove home on Monday, made the trip in just under 13 hours! (He had to be at work today!). Anyway, I have just a minute, so I wanted to say hello and miss everyone!

We miss you too Furluv! :)

Annette... get to bed young lady! You are up too late and will feel it in the morning. Which makes me wonder if you have added a splice on that caffeine IV? ;)

Darla and I had a nice dinner.

Have a great night everyone... tomorrow is Wednesday! :)

So nice to hear from you Shannon, I noticed you haven't been posted lately and remembered that you are on vacation. Enjoy yourself here in Florida. :)

Garrett, I am glad you had a nice dinner with Darla. :)

Hi Dennis...could some some showers between you and me for much of the afternoon. And was that there a real twister near Winslow? Looks like the rains may have fallen on the grounds of the Chedesky fire from last year.

Most of you must think I stay up late. Truth is, I am three hours ahead of you...and ready to cash it in about 9 my time...12 EDT. Just looks like I'm a night owl. Kathy tells me my pulse stops at 9:30 or so...so not like our friend Capn Midnight out there in MO.

107 today. Will cool a bit at the end of the week. We'll be in San Diego again this weekend. Any suggestions for books on tape I should rent before heading out across the desert?

Furry..thanks for the IM today. You are a wonderful mom!

Furry, glad to see you are enjoying yourself :D

Another gorgeous day here in Downtown Milwaukee. ...high of 75* But, all good things have to come to an end...sometime in the wee hours of the morning, the cold front will come through bringing cooler temperatures to the Milwaukee area.

The 6 of us had a rough day today! We met with our advisor/ Marquette professor in the morning and then from 1pm on, we went Indoor Rock Climbing at Adventure Rock in Brookfield (a suburb of MKE)! :ggreen: :D Being the monkey that I am, first one up on the wall...I could not wait! Along with team building, you had to trust your partner to not let you fall. Within a couple of hours our hands were sore....we definitely used muscles that were never used before! My forearms are a little sore, but its worth the pain. We got in free because one of my teammates works there! The guys had to adjust the harness a few times because of their package. Every so often, you would hear (give me some slack...) :o

Morning everyone!

Sounds like another busy day in the Shannon report! :)

I think summer may officially be here in the Ozarks. We are getting into a stagnant weather pattern with hazy, warm, and humid days. Yesterday's high was 86º and it looks like we should probably reach 88º or so today.

I am taking my grandparents to a benefit concert tonight in Mtn. Home, AR (about 3 hrs. away from here) so I won't be on this evening. I hope to check in when I get back. In any event, I will probably checking in on the boards here throughout the day. :)

Have a great Wednesday!

Good morning Porch Fans! Just taking a few minutes to catch up on the porch happenings. *note to me: do not take off more than 2 days; posts accumulate like the blizzard of '78.*

Been busy trying to keep the kids off the TV for their summer vacation. I think they want to be professional couch potatoes when they grow up.

We're having a garage sale this weekend. What a pain in the derrier! I can't believe we've moved some of this stuff across the country ... twice!

Also trying to get an Indiana license. I think it's about time, since I've been here 6 months now. BUT ... they not only want my existing FL license, but also a birth certificate (had to order), a SS card (had to order), proof of residence (got plenty of bills to show them), and I have to take a written test (studying now). I'm thinking the extra security is probably due to Sept. 11. So, as you can see, I've been putting it off, and I would put it off even longer except the local library won't let us check out anything w/o it. And I've got to get those kids reading something besides comic books!

Garrett - Sorry you had to say goodbye to Darla. Are you guys going to try to work out a long distance relationship? Or was this really goodbye? :(

Sandi - Love your Thought for the Day! :D

Well, I'm gonna grab some cereal now. I'm not a donut person. I know, I know ... I shouldn't even be allowed on the porch after having confessed that! I would sneak my share to Crouton, but he looks like he's already been the sneakster of the day.

Have a wonderful Hump Day! Put on your helmets ... it's downhill from here!

Donna... good morning! :)

I think that the relationship is over between us, but we are going to stay friends. I am just not into long distance relationships. But I can always use a friend. :)

Enjoy your garage sale. Hope you get rid of some stuff.

Where is everyone??? The porch seems empty.

In actuality, this BalloonSat program is just a waiting game........ We have to wait for our professor to get the paper work in, and to have it approved by the Purchasing Dept at Marquette University. We went rock climbing because we had nothing better to do......otherwise we would have sat around doing nothing...either playing games on the computer, or just sitting around twittling our thumbs. As for this morning's (Wednesday) activities, we talked with one of the Marquette PR people and he will be doing a press release sometime in the near future about our BalloonSat project. Today we also worked on a grant proposal (which was a beast!) We submitted it to Dr. Majdalani and there was so much red on the first page, we couldn't identify what went where...believe me...it took 3 of us to determine what the words were! I was called in to Dr. Majdalani's office at 5pm to pick up the grant proposal...and then had til 8pm to get the proposal corrected and sent back. We made it with time to spare. Then from there on out I hung out with one of my teammates and her friends. We aren't really sure what we are going to do tomorrow......but we'll have to wait and see what comes up.

The corrections for the proposal, but its worth what I'm getting for this Internship!!!! I found out today, that I am getting more than I expected! About $3000 more than I expected!!!!!!! :D :D :ggreen: And it's all TAX FREE!!! All I say....COOL BEANS!!!! :D :D We were originally told a $5000 stipend, but because I am living on campus, its more because I need that money to pay for rent and parking...and everything else inbetween.

As for more great news! I received a call from my USAF Reserves recruiter...and well, I go in on Wednesday June 25th to enlist!!! :ggreen: My paperwork FINALLY, I mean FINALLY went through!!! :D I have to work on my security clearance sometime in the near future.

Obviously, you can tell, I'm in a GREAT mood!!! :D :D

Shannon...What a day you had! Congrats on all the good news.

Got some items for the garage sale. I'll bring them over early in the day on Saturday. Keep the change. Sorry I don't have an Indiana license to sell. Got a 1997 IL DL, though. You can doctor up the photo. Price is right, too. FREE!

What was the concert, Garrett? Christian? Country? Gospel? or ???

Long day today...so short night tonight. I'll check in tomorrow.

I suppose there wasn't much to say on the "Front Porch" on Wednesday. I am sure there have been plenty of visits (reading). I for one read what fellow members have to say on a regular basis.

I played Scrabble with my mother and our neighbor across the street tonight. We started playing Wednesday evening because my father is playing poker with a small group of men in the neighborhood. The other three or four Wednesdays I play Scrabble during the afternoon.

Morning everyone... I just got up after getting back in around 2 or so this morning. It was a bluegrass concert, with "Lost Highway" out of CA headlining.

Congrats Shannon! You have finally arrived at your goal. That is great to hear. :)

I agree Tom. A lot of the time I read the Front Porch, but don't have much to say. (I know that is shocking coming from me... ;) ) I always read it however. It keeps me up-to-date on my wxbuddies. :)

Have a great day everyone!
