OK, we've got the timing for the storms, but does that coincide with frontal passage? I know a lot of times the storms are way ahead of the actual front, so am wondering where the heck the thing is right now.

the surface front should pass with the storms tonight/tomorrow...but the "main" push of cooler, drier air may hold off until late morning or early afternoon.JenBayles wrote:OK, we've got the timing for the storms, but does that coincide with frontal passage? this front's strength looks to be playing out well across the north. It just moved through Dallas and within about an hour or so they are down 10F (from 86F to 76F), and then in Fort worth, they are down nearly 20F in just 3 hours (from 83F to 65F)!!!
update: Dallas is now also down to 65F and Fort Worth is down to 58F! What an amazing drop! Based on this, I wouldn't be surprised to see forecasts for SE Texas adjusted downward another few degrees for tomorrow/tomorrow night.

I think our high is suppose to happen tomorrow morning with dropping (or steady) temps. through the day. It will feel considerably cooler than today.JenBayles wrote:Wow! That's a heck of a temp drop. Wonder how effective it will be on our temps by the time it goes through. Hopefully, we'll get the same.

Geez, it's raining and it just keeps raining over the same areas. Water is already up to the rooftops in some areas in Newton County, a lot of flooding in Jasper County, Hardin County, and Jefferson County and it's been pouring over these areas for hours. Hardin County is the county just north of Beaumont (Jefferson County) and now it's raining heavy here too. This is so not good.

I don't know yet, Jen. Pine Island Bayou is still rising and this is just gonna make things worse. As of now, the water is to the top of the bridge by my house, but hasn't gone over yet. I've been checking it fairly often. All the rain here and to the north of here the past several hours will eventually make it rise more though, I would think. The underpass just past my house is closed as the bayou has completely covered the feeder road on both sides of the highway as well as the underpass itself. If all the rain that is expected tonight and tomorrow actually occurs, well...I don't know what to say.
Thanks for asking about things over here.
