Central Texas Motor-sickle Trip

#1 Postby JenBayles » Mon Oct 23, 2006 12:32 pm

Here's a few pics from our ride through the Hill Country this past weekend. Dean's throttle cable broke just west of Hunt, TX, and while we were stuck for 4 hours trying to get it road-worthy (a failed attempt unfortunately) it was one of the most beautiful spots in the area to break down at. I sure envy you S2K members who live out that way! If you want to see all pics, here's the link...

Wow, when the bike broke, I would have wanted to crack open a beer, put up a tent, build a campfire and throw in a fishing line!!!!! Beautiful

Well, I will admit we were well supplied with a saddle bag full of iced down Coronas - maybe that had something to do with our perception of the incident.

Uh, did you forget me? Arlo is a classic!!!!!

And you were in my favorite part of Texas!!! My best friend lives in Johnson City. We usually go to Fredericksburg when we visit them, unless we are staying in JC for an event.

We'll be out that way in a couple weeks camping at Pedernales State Park right near Johnson City. Have you ever been through there? The falls are just gorgeous - you know how clear the water is in that part of Texas. All kinds of little springs bubble up right there at the falls, so you have to watch where you put your feet - but worth it even if you get a dunking. We'll have to bring the "good" camera for that trip instead of the little digital I used for last weekend. Dave is really the photographer in our house. He's shot some amazing pics over the years of everything from our days of offshore fishing and tarpon fights, to Hill Country landscapes, critter shots, and everything in between. He's got far more patience than I do at setting up a shot.

"You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant (exceptin' Alice!)" Almost time for the annual Thanksgiving Day massacree! :cheesy:
