I passed! I passed!
Here is the scoop...
I passed my flight physical (as of today, Monday 10/23) and to get things rolling, they (the training people at the Hurricane Hunters) are pushing me into classes almost immediately. Sometime after Nov. 6 I'll be in training to fly through Hurricanes!! As my mom put it (rather quite frankly)... call me when you LAND (after a mission)!
Here are the schools:
1 week at Altitude Chamber (Tyndall NAS, FL)
5-6 Months at Loadmaster schools (Little Rock AFB, AR)
2 weeks at Water Survival School (Pensacola NAS, FL)
3 weeks at Weather School (Keesler AFB, MS)
and finally training flights.
The other school is Outdoor Survival (Fairchild AFB, WA)... that doesn't need to be completed right away... but within the year.
So that's what I'm up for to become a Hurricane Hunter based at Keesler AFB, MS.
