Let's see.....I used to have a challenge with H. candy, since my oldest daughter has a peanut allergy. I had to buy only non peanut candy, since she's very allergic. But last year she was on campus and not home at Halloween. So we bought lots of peanut candy, which shocked our neighbors, they thought they had the wrong house! So sigh, this year will be the same - sadly. Another Halloween with any candy I find on sale!
Except bubble gum. I used to buy one or two huge bags, enjoying some myself. Not this year - I gave it up - cold turkey. I'm done with chipping teeth and pulling out old fillings. I'm sitting here with 5 crowns and I don't want any more! My dentist said bubble gum is one of the worst things you can chew when you're my age and have a mouth full of old fillings and enamel that seems to chip, on even pudding. So I gave it up......I will miss it! Sugarless bubble gum is just not the same thing, at all!
*Edit* I didn't answer all your questions. Depending upon the wx, we usually get a steady turnout for at least the first hour. We can get a lot if it's warm out. Maybe 75 to 100 kids? The last 30 minutes it's a trickle though. Usually teenagers.
