Danny Rolling Executed
Finally - justice! This should have happened 16 years ago. His last plea - the lawyer said that lethal injection is inhumane - yeah like what he did to those kids wasn't. Sorry if this sounds bitter. I knew one of the kids.

Yarrah wrote:Just wondering: why can the US law give one person 5 death sentences? Is one not enough or is there a specific reason?
The defendant recieves a seperate sentence for each crime committed. So if multiple crimes are committed the defendant gets a seperate sentence for each crime. Multiple death sentences arent that uncommon.

Ah, thanks for the explanation, I understand it now. Never heard if this 'multiple sentencing' before. The usual maximum punishment is 20 years here, so I was kinda surprised this is actually possible.

I'm not a fan of the death penalty by any means.. But this is 1 of those cases where he would have deserved to be fried.. more like burned to a crisp.
They actually had an interview last night with 1 of our local mets.. who was a student at UF during the Danny Rolling incidents. Scary stuff I'd say..

What is horrible is that he "posed" some of them to shock authorities. One victims head was sitting on a shelf surrounded by mirrors. He did that to give an effect through the window.

Christa Hoyt worked for the sheriff's dept. there.

Yea Helen I hear u and I understand how u feel. But we do not need to stoop to the same level as the criminals we are executing. Lets either electrocute em, hang em..or inject them. Just remove them from society. Unlike many I do not feel electrocution is inhumane but it is quick. Ditto for hanging.
