Thunderstorms can form more easily if the dewpoints are higher, ie there is more moisture available for the storms to form. Obviously other factors are involved, but a higher dewpoint is one of them.

Be safe everyone!

It's a nice night so far - lots of loud winds and interesting weather! The rain is just starting to hit here in St. Pete.

Sunday will be cool + clear. I like this time of year.

Thanks!

Has anyone heard any updates, other than BN9? They're not mentioning HC in their scroll anymore. I figure it's either going to keep to the north of us, or we're in the clear.

Thoughts?

Because the air temperature has pretty much held steady this eve, if the dewpoint were decreasing, it would indicate that the atmosphere is becoming drier, which would be a factor in weakening the line.

Since the dew point temperature was increasing that indicates that the squall line still has more mositure to work with. (I'm up to 69F now...).

The only thing is any decent winds prob pushing like 3am & I'm prob gonna fall asleep before they get here.

Thank you, tb. It's pouring nicely now. Good thing I already took the dog out for his last walk of the night! The winds don't bother me so much as the tornado threat. I love t-storms, though, just not so much the severe ones when it's just the dog and I for the time being. Just wish they would start, already, if they're going to.
