How the heck can they say "so and so" won the race with only 5% of the polls reporting???? I HATE when they do that!!! It's not like they haven't been wrong before.

They have a lot of data they go by... including exit polls. I don't think you'll see them be wrong tonight. They are being overly cautious.

Democrat Ben Cardin wins the Maryland Senate... beating Michael Steele. This was a Democratic seat that the Republicans had a chance to pickup.

There's still problems with the voting machines that they're using. I just find it very frustrating and that we still haven't learned anything from previous elections. It's just a matter of one trying to come in with the "exclusive" first.

Not really. They're all using and reporting the same information. No scoops tonight. They've been extremely cautious for a change. I doubt any called races will turn out incorrect.

To add to that: Almost all called races come from the AP wire.

"Gore wins Florida" is the only time I've ever seen an AP call be wrong.

Kentucky District 3 just went Democrat. Northup lost, as did a district in Indiana with Hosteller.

That hurts.

Democrat Martin O'Malley has been elected Governor of Maryland, beating Robert Ehrlich.

I'm watching Michigan and it's not set in stone. I haven't heard of any winner in that race yet. The WDIV-TV website (Local 4 news) shows Jennifer Granholm in the lead which is no surprise so far.

As predicted, it's looking like a bad night for the GOP.
