You know, while I am disappointed, I am not totally upset. Now when something doesn't get done, we don't have to hear that it's the Republicans fault.

It was a very bad night though... I was sure the Democrats would take the House, but they took it by a bigger margin than I thought, and I thought the Senate would stay Republican by a seat or two.

You have to look at the bright side: The US does well when the feds are gridlocked.

Also, despite what you might often hear, the Democrats are not the enemy. They are just Americans with goals similar to Republicans but a different idea of how to get there.

Well I knew when the GOP got both the Legislative and Executive branch that things were going to be bad for them.

Things always go wrong in government no matter what. And when you control everything, you look pretty stupid trying to blame it on the other party.

Here is how I comprehend it. Two different views on where America should be going. One in control of the executive, the other in control of congress. Both parties honest Americans who are looking out for their respective constituents. They will have to collaborate and make compromises which are more in the interests of both sides, as opposed to only satisfying 51% of America. Split government seems more democratic to me.
