What child actually deserves a $600 video game system? That is whats wrong with todays society. Kids feel they deserve everything and parents don't want to upset them even if it means going deep into dept.

Exactly Regit. My sister told me that Walmart in Powder Springs, GA were only shipped 11. This is a new Supercenter and they only received 11 to sell??
Wait a minute, they only shipped 300K to being with....I am sure ther are a lot of children that wont get one simply because there arent enough to go around. My brother was in a position to get one because of his job. In no way is my brother a selfish person, however there is absolutely no reason that he shouldnt sell it for the current market value. If people are willing to pay 3K for a system then that is what it is worth. These claims of selfishness are rediculous. I did the exact same thing when the PS2 came out, its all about supply and demand. I had the supply and the demand price I received was $1700. Let me assure you if SONY put a 3K price tag on it NO ONE would claim that they were being selfish.

Oh come on! That is not what I meant.
fwb, I still stand by what I said. Greed will get you exactly what you deserve. It is wrong for people to make money off stuff like this. No matter what you say, I will not change my mind. I do understand your brother though, he is using it to make extra money to buy Christmas presents. That is an excellent way to get the corporate king. lol. Hope that made sense.

You guys never cease to amaze. Pro something once, anti something the next.
Free market capitalism is good. Kids do not have a right to have a certain toy.
What are you talking about?
Why don't these young people who are ebaying ps3 go out and get a real job and save up like the majority of us do?

Well really, they're just buying items cheaply and selling them at fair market value. That's what retail store owners, car dealers, and all salespeople do.
Plus, if you can make money elsewhere, who needs a job?
I have a relative who turned thousands of dollars into millions on the stock market and retired at 26. I'd take that any day, thank you.

Free market capitalism? Now that should be your amazement. Pro/anti hmmmm isn't that the American way? If we all agreed on everything we would be one boring crowd.

I'm glad eveybody is standing by their opinions! That's what's so great about this country.
Back to my comparison of re-selling this game, to scalping. Again, I don't see a problem with it. If I choose to pay $60 dollars for a Red Sox ticket that has a face value of $22 on E Bay, who cares?? The fact of the matter is, if it wasn't for E Bay, there is no way I could EVER see a Red Sox game so I'm grateful. Now don't give me that baloney that if the scalpers weren't buying up all the tickets they would be available for the general public.
We are talking about free will here. NOBODY is forcing anybody to buy at the inflated price. It's not the end of the world if little Mikey doesn't get his precious PS3. There's always outdoor sporting type things to do with friends that cost ZERO money. Remember those days????

Who gets to define what a "real" job is? Why should they get one of these so-called "real" jobs when they can make a few thousand dollars for camping out in front of Best Buy for two days? Who's to say they don't also have one of these "real" jobs and are doing this in their off time? Lastly, who cares?

A job where you have taxes taken out of your paycheck and you don't sit on your butt. I CARE....

I'm all in favor of people paying their taxes as opposed to working under the table, but until somebody straightens out E commerce and finds a way to bleed more takes out of people, you can't fault a person for taking advantage of the loopholes.
CM - have you ever bought anything off the internet? If so, you (most likely) haven't paid taxes for that item. Are you feeling guilty about it?

So people who work as independent contractors do not have "real" jobs?I CARE....
Why?
They still pay taxes.
I care because i have tried to teach my children to have an honest work ethic.
